Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students know fundamentals of modelling and control of processes in chemical and food technology. They are able to develop simple static and dynamic models, e.g., of the liquid tanks. They are able to derive input-output process models in the form of transfer functions and to follow the process dynamic using models in the form of transfer functions. The students are able to identify the transfer functions of the controlled processes using an experimental-statistic method. They know principles of PID controllers. They are able to choose the structure of PID controllers and to tune the controller parameters. They have learned basic control principles of processes in chemical and food technology. They understand the technological schemes with measurement and control loops.
