Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The student knows the chronological and current view of the current development of the industry in the production of fuel, energy, food production, consumer chemicals, metals and plastics, biotechnology, pharmacy and environmental protection. The students broaden their knowledge of the most important figures suggested by the breakthrough technology of chemical and industrial production.

3.Drug manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemistry. (allowance 2/0)
4.Food manufacturing and food processing. (allowance 2/0)
5.Plastics, textiles, biodegradable materials. (allowance 2/0)
6.Printing, packaging, printed electronics. (allowance 2/0)
7.Woodworking, pulp, pulp and paper recycling. (allowance 2/0)
8.Petroleum and coal industry. Production of fuel. (allowance 2/0)
9.From radium to nuclear energy. (allowance 2/0)
10.Biofuels and renewable energy sources. (allowance 2/0)
11.Production of metals and special alloys. Recycling technologies. (allowance 2/0)
12.Building materials, construction chemicals and ceramics. (allowance 2/0)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Contact teaching:
lectures 26 h
exam 1 h

Contactless teaching:
elaboration of individual work 7 h
preparation for the exam 16 h

Assesment methods and criteria:

Course culminates in an exam. The evaluation of the course consists of a point evaluation for participation in lectures (30%), elaboration of individual work (20%) and an exam test (50%). The grading scheme follows the Study Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
