Course unit code:
N423C5_4B
Course unit title:
Chemical and Energetic Engineering
Mode of delivery, planned learning activities and teaching methods:
lecture – 3 hours weekly (on-site method)
seminar – 4 hours weekly (on-site method)
Credits allocated:
6
Recommended semester:
Biotechnológia – bachelor (full-time, attendance method), 5. semester
Chemistry, Medical Chemistry and Chemical Materials – bachelor (full-time, attendance method), 5. semester
Potraviny, výživa, kozmetika – bachelor (full-time, attendance method), 5. semester
Automation, Information Engineering and Management in Chemistry and Food Industry – bachelor (full-time, attendance method), 5. semester
Process Control – bachelor (full-time, attendance method), 5. semester
Level of study:
1.
Prerequisites for registration:
none
Assesment methods:
During the semester students will write four control computing tests. From each test they can get 25 points. To obtain classification A they must obtain at least 92 points, to obtain B at least 83 points, the C rating of at least 74 points, for the evaluation of D at least 65 points and E on the evaluation of at least 56 points. If the student does not reach the required number of points can be repeated once every topic of control computing tests. When it reaches the required minimum number of points from two subjects, a student may attend the exam. In this case, the exam consists of computing part and theoretical part. In case of 56 or more points during the control computing tests, calculating part of the exam is eliminated. The theoretical part of the exam is in writing form and the student must obtain at least 56% points from correct answers.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will acquire knowledge and skills in balancing the mass, energy and momentum through understanding and mathematical description of the physical mechanism of transport of substances, momentum and heat transfer in selected technological processes and equipment. At the same time will also control the groundwork for energy management media integrating material and energy flows.
