The aim of this project is to develop advanced technologies for accurate and reliable monitoring of quality indicators for biotechnological and food applications using data-based modelling. The project will establish and develop cooperation between two research groups that share common research interests in the development and deployment of modern algorithms for monitoring difficult-to-measure quantities in industry. Accurate and reliable monitoring will contribute to the stability, efficiency and economic effectiveness as well as safety of biotechnological and food production processes. The project uniquely combines biotechnology and food research with cybernetics and information technology. The project team consists of young researchers, PhD. students and experienced researchers with extensive knowledge in mathematics, cybernetics, biotechnology and food science. Along with theoretical methods, software implementations of theoretical concepts will also be developed in the project. The results of the project will be demonstrated in several case studies. Theoretical concepts and demonstrations of results will be communicated with the academic community through publications and with industry through workshops for effective dissemination of project results.
