Juraj Oravec will give a seminar on "Robust Model Predictive Control" on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 13:00 in room no. 641.

This talk considers the problem of robust model predictive control (MPC) in the framework of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). We reduced the conservativeness of the controller design using the novel approach of robust MPC using quasi non-symmetric constraints of control inputs and system outputs. We also develop the software tool to solve the task of robust MPC design in effective and user-friendly way. The quality of control is judged using the case studies of control of the typical processes of chemical and food industries. We used the both - simulation of control and control of the real laboratory plant. This work tends to serve as the useful handbook for those of control engineers that find the theoretical background for the robust MPC via LMI framework.
