Process Control: A practical view from a chemical industry

Krister Forsman, Perstorp Group (Sweden), NTNU (Norway)

We give some concrete examples of how concepts from multivariable control can be applied in the chemical industry. All examples are using “elementary” concepts, such as cascade control, ratio control, feedforward etc. Furthermore we discuss some aspects of PID-controller tuning not often mentioned in textbooks.
