On Wednesday, October 22, our colleagues were invited to present the results of their research at a scientific seminar at the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT).
The event was organized and chaired by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Martin Hromčík, Ph.D., from the Department of Control Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Assoc. Prof. Ing. Juraj Oravec, PhD. delivered a lecture titled:
Advances, Challenges, and Opportunities in Tube Model Predictive Control.
Ing. Sofiia Serhiienko presented her lecture on:
Scalable Tube MPC Design.
This participation contributed to strengthening international scientific cooperation and promoting the scientific research carried out at the Institute of Information Engineering, Automation, and Mathematics (IAM), FCHPT STU in Bratislava.

We give some concrete examples of how concepts from multivariable control can be applied in the chemical industry. All examples are using “elementary” concepts, such as cascade control, ratio control, feedforward etc. Furthermore we discuss some aspects of PID-controller tuning not often mentioned in textbooks.

On Thursday, August 21, Dr. Kristína Fedorová defended her PhD thesis on "Structure-Exploiting Model Predictive Control for Real-Time and Embedded Applications", supervised by Prof. Michal Kvasnica. Dr. Roman Kohút defended his PhD thesis on "Enhancing Energy Efficiency: Advanced Forecasting Algorithms for Energy Management Systems", supervised by Prof. Michal Kvasnica. Congratulations!
Full papers from 14th IFAC Symposium on Dynamics and Control of Process Systems, including Biosystems (Bratislava, Slovakia, 16-19 June 2025) have been published at IFAC-PapersOnLine
We are co-authors of a new paper in the international scientific journal Energy:
This research paper was published as a result of scientific cooperation between STU in Bratislava and the Warsaw University of Technology (Poland).
The paper investigates possibilities to improve energy savings in the petrochemical industry using robust model predictive control.
We are pleased to announce that the full papers presented at the 25th International Conference on Process Control have been officially published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
On June 23, IAM students Richard Bielovič, Bibiana Dobrová, Filip Hlubík, and Viliam Vrba successfully defended their bachelor theses. Congratulations!
