Job description, responsibilities and duties

Invensys Engineering Excellence Center in Bratislava is looking for a Principal Project Application Engineer who will have the full responsibility for providing engineering support and technical leadership on projects of significant complexity, primarily in oil & gaz industry.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
• Work directly with the customer to understand technical specifications and assist in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements;
• Ensure that the system delivery meets the agreed technical scope and complies with all relevant HSE regulations;
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members;
• Coordinate on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning, take a lead role on projects if needed;
• Provide technical leadership in customer and application acceptance tests;
• Provide technical pre-sales support to the sales team.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Skills

Language skills:
English - advanced

Driving licence

Personality requirements and skills

• Minimum Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Industrial automation, Process Control, Information Technologies, Electrical Engineering or related field;
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of similar experience within the automation industry, previous experience with Industrial Control Systems (DCS, PLC) is a must;
• Previous experience with managing a small team is a major advantage;
• Very good written and spoken English;
• Good communication and presentation skills;
• Desired competencies: Customer focus, Action oriented, Planning, Creativity, Interpersonal Savvy, Learning on the fly;
• Driving license;
• Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50% of your working time.
