Master study programme:
Automation and Information Engineering in Chemical and Food Technologies

The study program Automation and information engineering in chemistry and food industry (AI) combines the area of chemical science with relevant knowledge from physics, mathematics, and biology science with extended usage of computers. This understanding constitutes the theoretical basis of production processes in chemical, biochemical, food, and pharmaceutic industries. The obtained knowledge allow the graduate to work in research in development of physical and chemical processes, equipment, technologies, control systems.

Graduates of the AI study program can be employed not just in companies concerned with chemical and food industries, but are also able to design progressive technologies based on the theoretical knowledge from process control, process automation and information technologies.

Graduates of the AI study program have deep knowledge in the area of general automation with a special focus at process automation for industrial plants. The graduate is prepared to independently design automatic control and information systems in the process industry and implementation thereof. The theoretical and practical knowledge obtained during the studies form a good basis either for the graduate to be employed in research and development, or to continue with post-graduate studies

Graduates of the AI study program have deep knowledge in design of control algorithms, identification, optimization, adaptive control, as well as in design of software products for intelligent control systems. Moreover, the graduates can exploit information technologies not only in the area of process control, but also for design of web-based applications and database systems. The graduates are able to work with different types of software products. Graduate of the AI program is highly qualified in the areas of control and information technologies, is able to design and implement modern control systems in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and biochemical industries. Graduates of the AI program are successful in finding employment in control design companies, but also in banking or insurance businesses.
