Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Mastering of the basic principles of general and inorganic chemistry, structure, properties, industrial, biological and environmental applications of nonmetallic and metallic elements and their simple inorganic and coordination compounds.

Chemical objects. Atomic structure of matter. Substances and their mixtures. Balance of matter. Formation of inorganic compounds.
The spontaneous processes. Chemical equilibrium. Protolytic reactions. Complex formation reactions.
Redox reactions . Precipitation reactions.Orbitals and electron arrangement.
Periodic system and the classification of the elements. Covalent bond. Fundamentals of the theory of molecular orbitals.
The chemical structure of covalent compounds. Shape trinuclear and polynuclear particles. VSEPR method . Hybridization. Chemical bonds and structure in solids.
Hydrogen bonds and other intermolecular interaction. Physical properties of matters. Solution formation. Periodic trends in the properties of elements and compounds.
