Employability

The doctoral study program Process Control is the only doctoral study program in the field of Cybernetics that prepares graduates for careers in the field of control and automation of technologies in the chemical, food and process industries and is the only one to provide interdisciplinary studies in natural sciences - chemistry, mathematics and physics, chemical technologies, automation, information technology and optimization. The employment of graduates is mainly in the chemical, process, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical and paper industries, but also in interdisciplinary professions in the field of energy, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, i.e. wherever it is necessary to recognize the properties of operating processes, automate, optimize and manage them in such a way as to increase the economic efficiency and safety of their operation. In these areas, the graduate of the study program Process Control will act as a researcher, manager, designer, constructor, system designer, specialist in various types of companies and organizations that use methods and means of automation, information and communication technologies, mathematical treatment, and data evaluation to improve their functioning. The graduate of this study program is characterized by deep knowledge in the field of automatic control theory, systems theory, modeling and simulation of industrial processes, optimization, hardware and software control systems, artificial intelligence and signal processing, and can apply this knowledge in a creative way to create new, unique solutions significantly exceeding the existing state of knowledge in the field. He/she will be employed not only in leading positions in companies dealing with measurement, regulation, automation in the chemical and food industry, where knowledge of chemical and food technologies is an advantage, but also in companies focused on computer technology, measurement and control technology, in the development of Internet solutions not only in the chemical and food industries, but also in finance and banking. In addition, the graduate of the study program Process Control is ready for another academic career or for holding positions in international scientific laboratories.
