Course unit code:
N400P0_4I
Course unit title:
Process Control Project
Mode of delivery, planned learning activities and teaching methods:
laboratory practice – 3 hours weekly (on-site method)
Credits allocated:
4
Recommended semester:
Automation and Information Engineering in Chemistry and Food Industry – master (full-time, attendance method), 3. semester
Level of study:
2.
Prerequisites for registration:
none
Assesment methods:
Final presentation of the project results in front of a committee (20%), written report (80%)
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Project represents individual student work to solve control of laboratory processes in chemical and biochemical technologies. Student has to combine knowledge from various subjects in engineering study. He studies a selected laboratory process, designs and simulates its behaviour and verifies at the actual plant. In conclusions, forms results and presents them.
Course contents:
Literature review about selected process
Model design
Measurement of experimental results on laboratory process
Parameter estimation and improvement of the model
Process simulations, design of observer and control
Verification of control on laboratory process
Presentation of results
