COMPARISON OF RELAY BASED AUTO-TUNING METHODS

Abstract

The contribution is focused on comparison of various auto-tuning methods. There are several principles in relay feedback as well as the utilized design approach. The first classical method is based on well-known Ziegler-Nichols philosophy connected with a symmetrical relay experiment. However, the relay with hysteresis and biased relay can be successfully used during the identification experiment. Further, algebraic or equalization approach to tuning of PID controller can be applied.
