FUZZY MODELS OF SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE YEAST CULTIVATION

JURNÍČEK, V.; NÁHLÍK, J.; ŠINDELÁŘ, J.

Abstract

The paper presents fuzzy modeling of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cultivation. The motivation has been to use the obtained model in model-based predictive control of yeast cultivation. The model is of the form of MIMO system and enables the prediction of output variables of the controlled process in reasonable time. Input fuzzy variables of the model are absolute values and history trends of process variables. The main part of the paper presents the work done in determining the optimal length of the history data window and appropriate transformation of slope values to a corresponding data trend. Results obtained by statistical analysis of the experimental data used in the model design process are also presented.
