APPLICATION OF THE KALMAN FILTER IN TRAFFIC

Abstract

This paper is devoted to the problem of estimating parameters in traffic control. The Kalman Filter is used in a number of linear estimation and machine learning applications. These include estimating the state of a linear dynamic system and estimating parameters is needed for the traffic control. In case that all variables are measurable, the Kalman filter is linear. In more practical case, when there are unmeasurable variables, it is nonlinear.
