COMPUTING VALUE SETS FOR SYSTEMS WITH CONSTRAINED STEP RESPONSE

SCHLEGEL, M.; KVAK, L.

Abstract

In this paper a novel approach to the step response based design of a discrete robust controller is presented. The basic concepts of this approach are the model set and its value set. The model set contains all FIR systems which have step responses passing through some tolerance intervals at a few given time moments. Out of this time moments step responses are approximated by spline polynomials of a given order. The main result presented in this paper is that the value set of this model set is a convex polygon. Moreover, the simple algorithm for computing the extreme points of this polygon is presented. Application of these results for design of a robust controller is also illustrated.
