MEASUREMENT OF BASIC ELECTRICAL QUANTITIES USING MOTOROLA 68HC08 MICROCONTROLLER

Abstract

This contribution deals with the hardware and software design of electrical quantities measurement device based on 8-bit microcontroller Motorola 68HC08. In order to achieve true RMS values of voltage and current and consequently right values of real, apparent and reactive power integral evaluation was used. Since this evaluation method is fully independent on the shape of voltage and current, designed device can be used for measuring on circuits where these quantities have non-harmonic waveforms.
