REALTIME LINUX PROCESS CONTROL USING ADAPTIVE HEURISTIC PID CONTROLLER

CHVOSTEK, T.

Abstract

This article shows how to use Realtime Linux in automation applications. It is a brief tutorial with introduction to realtime process programming. RTLinux is an open source realtime platform which is a stable and precise system with accurate timing (in microseconds). Our research proved that this platform is ideal for low-cost implementation of fast and reliable controllers. We sketched basic and a simple implementation principle in RTLinux enviroment. As a realtime demonstration we implemented adaptive heuristic PID controller based on a recognition of process output.
