Short Bio

Peter Bakaráč is a highly accomplished and dedicated researcher at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU). He received his PhD in 2021 with a specialization in Process Control. His academic record is distinguished by his outstanding performance as a student, where he won first place at multiple local and international Student Scientific Conferences in 2016 and 2017. During his PhD studies, he actively participated in various international workshops and conferences, including the Green Island 2018 in Las Palmas, Spain, MIDICON 2018 at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, and the 8th oCPS Fall School on Multidisciplinary CPS Design held in Eindhoven in 2019.

His research focuses on the application of advanced Model Predictive Control techniques using approximate dynamic programming for effective and efficient control systems. He is also well-versed in electronic engineering and has extensive experience in the development of laboratory educational devices. He is the author of two utility models related to electronic educational platforms, and has co-authored 2 CC journal papers and 6 peer-reviewed contributions at international conferences. He has also been a principal investigator on two domestic funding projects. Furthermore, Peter Bakaráč is a co-founder of Optimal Control Labs, a startup company that specializes in developing and manufacturing custom hardware and software solutions for research and education.
