Short Bio

Peter Bakaráč is currently a researcher at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU). He received his PhD in 2021 in Process Control. As a student, in 2016 and 2017 he attended both local and international Student Scientific Conferences where he won first places with his projects. During his PhD study, he participated in international workshops Green Island 2018 in Las Palmas, Spain, or MIDICON 2018 at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, and 2019 8th oCPS Fall School on Multidisciplinary CPS Design held in Eindhoven. His research activities involve the application of effective and fast Model Predictive Control by using approximate dynamic programming. He is also highly experienced with electronic engineering and the development of laboratory educational devices. He is the author of two utility models related to electronic educational platforms. He is also co-author of 2 CC journal papers and 6 peer-reviewed contributions at international conferences. He has been a principal investigator of two domestic funding projects. He is also a co-founder of a startup company Optimal Control Labs, focusing on developing and manufacturing custom hardware and software solutions for research and education.
